Soi 1 is a cute little lane off the busy Nimmanhaemin Road and contains a permanant row of independant studios and boutiques specialising in art, design and home deco products. Once a year, Soi 1 is closed off to traffic and the soi plays host to the Nimman Art and Design Promenade (NAP) fair. Running from 5th - 10th December 2015, the stalls showcase the best of local designed and made products including clothes, jewellery, art and food. Originally started by the Rincome Hotel in 1999 in order to rejuvenate the area (in a sad twist of fate, the hotel, which was adjacent to Soi 1, no longer exists) NAP is now organised and run by the community. NAP is open from 10am to 10pm, with live music after dark. |
